Introduction

Welcome to James Madison University! We are so excited that you have chosen to make Harrisonburg your home for the next few years.

As the Graduate Student Association, we wanted to be the first to share some “tips and tricks” on how to be successful within the graduate program.

The GSA is an organization made up of representatives from each department and graduate program on campus including Art and Music, Business, Communication, Education, and Health and Behavioral Studies programs (More on that later).

We strive to improve the quality of graduate student life at JMU by acting as an advocate and liaison between the University and its graduate students in addition to organizing social activities and events that help bring us all together as a community.

We have provided you with this resource in order to introduce you to James Madison University and to briefly showcase some of places, and organizations that help make Harrisonburg a thriving, inclusive community for all of its residents.
