3.1.2 Leadership Spectrum Profile (LSP)
Purpose
The Leadership Spectrum Profile™ offers a results-oriented framework that encourages leaders to do “the right thing at the right time for the right results.” This instrument addresses the broad range of experiences leaders may encounter in their roles, rather than focusing on individual aspects of leadership. As with the SMI®, the goals of the LSP™ are to (Enterprise Management, n.d.):
Boost thinking effectiveness when issues are complex, precedent setting or ambiguous.
Foster mental agility in order to capture new opportunities, handle new risks, and increase innovation
Assess reality and make sharp decisions in order to do the right thing
Align thinking to leverage the organization life cycle to increase effectiveness
Improve team collaboration and performance with aligned thinking
Productively resolve conflict by focusing on objective reality and goals
The instrument was developed for executives, managers, team and project leaders, and team members directly responsible for achieving goals.
Description
The instrument was developed by Mary Lippitt.
No validity or reliability data is available. However, it is common for instruments like the LSP to have limitations, such as a lack of generalizability of findings across different contexts, potential biases in self-assessment responses, and the need for ongoing validation studies to ensure reliability and validity.
Access
The Leadership Spectrum Profile™ is available through the website of Enterprise Management Ltd. https://leadershipspectrum.com/index.php. Free trials of the instrument can be requested, but the cost beyond the free trial is not mentioned. It may require permission from the owner.
